Could It Be?

A couple of weeks ago (maybe three) we had cooked a birthday dinner for one of our daughter's friends. She had called him and left a message on his cell phone, letting him know about it. He didn't call back, but we went ahead with cooking and invited several friends from church to come over. Even sang "Happy Birthday" to him before we cut the cake. Only thing missing was the birthday guy. Yesterday, we saw Brant at the football game. Told him how much we had enjoyed his birthday cake. He explained he had lost his cell phone and so he didn't get the message. So we invited him to come for dinner today. Strangely, today none of our other college kids could come, so it was just our family, Brant, and our brother from my Bible class.

After we finished eating, we were talking with Pat about his living arrangements and the possibility he might be able to move into Hope Haven. We talked about his goal of obtaining his G.E.D. so he can hopefully obtain a better job with reliable income and better hours. Then Brant said, "we're hiring right now." Turns out that the company he is working for will be adding about 75 new positions within the next few weeks and the hours are regular, the pay is pretty good and predictable and the job has good benefits. And he is in a management position and can put in a good word for Pat. All just exactly what we are trying to find for Pat.
