The Joy of Family

My husband and I have welcomed college students around our table on Sundays for many years. Several years ago, a new student came to our house. He came back and began bringing friends with him. Nic, Melody & Rachel were frequent "eaters." They were close friends and spent a lot of time together. They graduated from A.C.U. the same year our daughter graduated from high school. Rachel married Alan soon after. We were present at their wedding. In February, we learned that Rachel & Alan were expecting a baby. We always thought Nic & Melody were a good match, but they had other ideas. In March, Nic called to tell us he was getting married. We saved the date, and on June 24, we drove to Dallas for his wedding. At his wedding, we learned that Melody was also getting married. So yesterday, we drove back to Dallas for her wedding. It was a really special event. Melody and Victoria have a lot in common. Both only children, both have older parents, both (I'm told) tend to have messy rooms. It was so good to see Melody's happiness. It was also great to get to see Rachel. The three of them sent me roses one mother's day. I can't wait for the grandbaby to get here!
